The image is being betrayed as a pop magazine as the colours used a usually realted to pop kind of music. Rita Ora's facial is a little bit serious and 'swaggy' as she is using emotion within her facial expression's and also as she has a hat on&gold jewellery

The type of music is pop/soul as it has a pop artist on the front cover, also the colours used are very 'poppy' which gives of the impression it is a pop magazine. You can tell this as these are generally the colours used on other type of music magazines.

Layout

The layout of this magazine is kind of simple but effective, it uses the right kind of colours which doesn't clash or contrast with the mastheads or the coverlines. The colours used are also simple but give of an effect as it only sticks to 3 main colours which means there is not to many colours included on the cover which means you wouldn't have to focus on all the different colours.  The shot type is a medium close up which is from the waist upwards, this also can show emotions within Rita Ora's face. The masthead stands out clearly and would be well noticable as it is in Bold White letter with a red background which makes it more effective.

Gender-Both male&female as females may be attratcted to him whereas males may just like him&his music. Also as there is a cover line about Ellie Goulding, which may also attract male and female readers.
Interest- A main interest with this magazine would be the music industry, it would tell you about certain artists, their backgrounds and other things like that.

Representation

This magazine cover is being betrayed as serious/'swaggy' kind of magazine as Justin Bieber's facial expressions are kind of serious as he shows it within his facial expressions. Also as he is wearing gold which gives off the 'swaggy' effect.

The type of genre for this magazine is pop as Justin Bieber is a pop artists. Also as the colours included on this magazine are bright and cheerful colours which gives of the effect it is a pop based magazine. You can tell this from the colours which are used on it as they are all bright and effective colours.

Layout

The layout of this magazine is quite basic but yet effective. The colours used are simple but they don't contrast against each other which shows the effect which they carry with them. They stick to 3 specific colours which means it doesn't get to clashy with the rest of the text and images. The shot type is a medium close up which shows the body from the waist up, it also shows the facial expressions within his face as you can see it quite clearly. The masthead is fairly clear is you can see it well and it would be noticable as the white contrasts nicely with the blue background.

Media

The language used within this magazine is appropriate for all ages as it shows general information about pop music and the industry. And also the pictures are appropriate for this genre of magazine.

Reasearch and Planning- College magazine evaluation

The font sizes are correct as they are easily read by the target audience. People do not have to find it hard to read this as it is at a resonable size. The colours are also appropriate as they are a College magazine colours which are appropriate for my target audience.The colours also stand out which would make people want to read my magazine as it would be noticable. My magazine follows the three colour rule as I stick to the same three colours through out my magazine cover and my contents page. The colours I used are pink,green&black. I chose this colours as I thought they were appropriate for my target audience as they are College type colours. You can tell my content page and magazine cover are from the same magazine as I use the same 3 colours through out both of them which distinguishes they are from the same magazine as the they are exactly the same colours.The photos taken are well taken in some ways as the picture could be less blurry. You can still tell what the picture is of but it would look better if it was less blurry. The photos are appropriate as my friend, who I used on my magazine cover looks like a College pupil as she looks smiley and happy. I think I could of put more stories on the content page and the cover as I have only used a few of them, I could add more which may attract more readers if there is more information. They are also appropriate as they indicate things about our College for example, Freshers fair which took place in our College.

This is my contents page for my College Magazine, I created this on Indesign with a various amount of tools. I have put a few coverlines on the contents page which shows a few which will be within my College Magazine. I have also stuck to the 3 colour rule, the colours are pink, green&black.

Research and Planning- Magazine Cover

This is my College magazine cover which I created on Photoshop. I used a picture of my friend to be on the cover. I used a few coverlines on it to show which type of things are within my magazine. I have also stuck to the three colour rule as I have only used pink,green&black; this is also on my contents page.There is no barcode on my magazine which means it is free to College pupils. I don't think I completed this Magazine cover to the best of my ability as it could be layed out a bit more neater and add more items to the cover to make it look more effective. Also as I found Photoshop hard to use on this as it was the first time I've ever used it, so it could be improved by going around the image of my friend neater and re-arrange the coverlines and add more coverlines. Also I could off changed the 3 colours I used to make it look more attractive and for it to stand out more.

Research and Planning- masthead practice

Today we looked at different type of Mastheads, I went on Dafont.com which I then found the appropriate fonts and downloaded them. I used them for these Masthead's as they look suitable and they are a suitable colour.

Planning and research - Questions Answered

I got 3 people to answer my questions which I had set for my magazine, I asked them a various amount of questions to see what their response would be and then use their responses to see how I could changed my magazine to be more suitable according to their feedback. I used their feedback to changed a few things on my college magazine as I changed the colours which I was going to use, to something which they suggested would look more effective. I also changed the layout of how things was with their feedback as they said it looked a little too crowded.

Research and Planning- College Magazine Analysis

This is a College Magazine as the man within the Magazine is holding books. It also has suitable colours for the background colour and also the Masthead is in a bold font and colour which stands out. The man on the front page is dressed appropriately and is also appropriate for college viewers. It has lots of different cover lines on the front page which tells you what is within this college magazine. The main image is a man holding books with subject names on them. You can also tell it is a College Magazine as the publication line says 'Your exclusive guide to everything hip hot&happening' this shows within the magazine it will tell you everything about the college. It also has a barcode and the price on it which means it could be possibly sold within the College it's self.

Research and Planning-Indesign tutorial

This is my first attempt of using InDesign. Firstly I opened a new document in Microsoft Word and then went onto Firefox and found a review on Mean girls and also a picture of the film, I then copied my review into word and transferred it into InDesign. I placed it into InDesign and spread the review out within the 3 columns which I created by going onto layout, ruler guides then I added 3 vertical columns. I then added my picture to the document and positioned it to where I wanted it. I then added a title by using the 'Text' tool and changed the colour of it by using the swatch tool on the side bar and then the size. Lastly I added a rectangle over my background and then placed it behind all of my text and images, then I changed the colour of the background to pink.

Research and planning - Film poster

In this photoshop tutorial we took someone from a film and exchanged their heads with someone elses. In this case I got a gremlin's body from the Spiderwick Chronicals and placed Megan Fox's head where the gremlin's was. I had to use the marquee tool to mark a circle around Megan Fox's face which was the bit I wanted to place within the gremlin's body. I dragged her face to the Gremlin's body and placed it where it was positioned to go. I then made it smaller and the correct size appropriate for it's body. Lastly I coloured the face in green to match the body. I always twisted the face vertically so it looked more like she was looking the correct way in whivch the body was positioned.

Research and planning: Photoshop challenge

In this Photoshop challenge I created a square which I dragged over the whole page to fit it perfectly. I then changed the colour to blue and used the 'T' tool to create a text box. Within the text box I added 'AS Media Studies' which I then changed the font to Century Gothic, the size to 24 and the colour to red. I then added a drop shadow to to text. Lastly I got a picture from the internet which was Rita Ora. Then I added a red border around the picture by clicking on layout.

Research and Planning- Skin Tutorial

I used photoshop to get rid of her blemishes with the healing and patch tool, this covered up her blemishes which made them no longer visable. I also changed her lip colour by using the brush tool which changed her lips to a different colour. I also used the brush tool to change her hair colour slightly, I used a blonde/brown colour to do so. Lastly I added a little bit of light blusher and eyeshadow.

Research and Planning-CD cover

This was my first time of using Photoshop. This was my first attempt of creating something on Photoshop which is a CD cover. I used the marquee tool to create a circle around the CD disk which I then transferred onto the background which is muscial notes. I then changed the CD colour into pink and purple colours. I then transferred the trumpet to the area where the CD is. I changed the colour of the trumpet to a much more suitable colour. I added muscial notes coming directly out of the trumpet to make it look more creative. Lastly I added my name in pink writing and changed the background layer to a wavy look.
